US & CANADA Shipping Only, Sorry Please Note: The last 2 pictures in the photo gallery are of 2 other candelabra sets (BOY & DOG & SEATED DEER STAG) for sale in our store. They are NOT INCLUDED in this sale, but pictured for your consideration in case you may have an interest in them as a collector. These were among dozens of sets owned by the collector we obtained them from & we have more coming as time allows. Wow! Terrific offering for someone wanting both super rare & super display pop! We only just discovered these were referenced in the Henry Hooper & Company catalog from 1858. It took us weeks to track that information down as they are so scarce, and we did not have that information when we shot the original video. So, in the video we called these three pieces all Knights, when in fact the larger 5 arm candelabra is a Centurian figure. This offering features three pieces, one is the very detailed brass Centurian branched by five-arms with intricate Acanthus leaf backdrop & leafed arms on candelabra & bobeches. This is the only sale of this piece ever offered on eBay from our records going back 25 years and we could not find it in any other paid website sources we have. We feel this could be a $1,500-$2,000 or more piece on its own in the proper setting, but we are pricing all three far under that. Many of Henry Cooper & Company pieces reach those price levels that are not as rare these. The other two side candlesticks are of medieval knights & are super solid & detailed as well (we saw a pair of these sold for over $400 years back on eBay). Henry Hooper & Company's works were known for superior quality & these show that. Circa 1850-60's. These are not a matched set, but we offered them together as they have general similar theme and appeal. The Elegant Victorian styling jumps out from these & they are a great compliment to any parlor, den, fireplace setting or other. 22 Antique Star & Rose crystal prisms are included (with three additional long pieces), while they have some wear & chips, they add an additional splash of elegance. The heavy white marble bases have some staining & chips as shown in pictures, but still add to the presence of these pieces. These are exceptionally rare as noted, especially the Five Arm Candelabra. It had two older auction tags on the base & we left them in place as did the prior owner. These came from perhaps the top collection of such items in the country outside of a museum or certainly in the very tip top tier of such collections. We did find a few of the Knight statue/candle holders that have sold in the 30-40 years at auctions & on eBay, but even those are pretty rare. They really are terrific pieces with a great display pop! While we included some crystals for you as noted, the bobeches could actually hold up to ten crystals each & the 5 Arm Candelabra has metal wires hangers in most of the holes already (those are sharp & pointy so be careful unpacking as they are like needles). Someone had removed the crystals from these when we obtained them. You can fiddle with the crystals as you wish or use your own as they only serve to compliment these beauties. We only dusted the items & did a quick wipe of the metal behind the Centurian on the 5 Arm piece to see if tarnish would come off, otherwise they are much as we found them. I think with a good cleaning these would be even more amazing, but some people really like these with patina, so we left as we found. We think these are a combination of brass and bronze perhaps. These did not have maker marks, so it took us a while to track the likely maker. But an article by H. Karl Scharold noted that the 1858 Henry Hooper catalog mentioned both a Centurian and Knight pieces and they were the only makers to note such. That information coupled with the superior quality of these pieces, and it is highly likely they are Hooper. Buyers can do their own research, but that is the best we could find. The candle cups appear to be brass. None of the body of the statue sections, nor the cups attract to a magnet. The only metal attracting to a magnet we found was on the screws & bolts that hold the parts in place. The Centurian on the 5 Arm Candelabra had worked lose from it's screw in bolt (under the brass pad he rests on), so we gently removed base and reattached him. It is just one little bolt holding him on and then he has a stim that also fits in the base pad he is on the keep him in place. These came from an extensive private antique collector's estate, complete with a full collection of candelabras from this era & hundreds of other items from antiquity. Frankly we have never seen as extensive of a collection in our 20 plus years' experience in dealing with antiques. When shipping, we will wrap the crystals safely apart from the holders in soft packing to protect them of course in shipping. Just be careful when reinstalling the crystals, they are fragile if dropped or if too much pressure is applied to them. They are authentic to the period. This will be packed in a large heavy box, but we will mark it "Fragile" and other when shipping. Please Read: These will ship UPS with signature required for insurance reasons, so please plan accordingly. We ship with extreme care & all items are fully insured! We often take from 30-90 minutes packing more delicate & odd sized items like these to make sure your treasure is protected. We also photograph most items above $100 while packing in case a shipper were to ever damage an item (only 1 time in over 2,000 US shipped sales). For this reason, if an item is ever damaged, it will be the Buyer's responsibility to file a claim with the shipping service & we can provide photos from packing to assist Buyers. The process is not difficult, but the timing of such does not allow adequate time for the item to be returned to us & then for us to proceed with a claim (chain of custody questions can arise as well on returned items due to double shipping & handling so it is just easier for Buyers). So again, as noted in listing, we do not offer returns. Of course, there is free local pick up and we can meet to assist if you are near Indianapolis or driving through. We do this often. Also, we have discounts with FedEx & eBay on shipping which do not always show up in eBay estimates on shipping. We try to refund what we can when there is a notable difference, but we do not know until we actually process the shipping order.
