Description: I am in the process of listing several boxes of estate found antique clothing. this listing is for a beautiful black lace, possibly Chantilly lace dress fragment ( lower portion of the dress). The lace "skirt" has a handkerchief hemline. The style is fitted through the hips with another section of lace that is gathered attached in a triangular method that allows it to fall gracefully into a scalloped handkerchief style hemline. This is a large piece of exceptional lace in very good condition. I am certain there are some minor flaws, actually I did find a hole, as photographed, while photographing this over a contrasting piece of white fabric. Any holes, truly are not readily noticeable. While photographing, I also noticed two thread type belt loops leading me to believe this lace segment was in fact a part of a 1930's dress rather than having been a skirt. The lace is shown on a size 4-6 mannequin, in addition there are photos taken with the lace over a contrasting white fabric so you can better see the pattern and detail. Keep in mind that if you are planning to use this as a skirt, you will need to attach a waistband. The present length of the "skirt" is approximately 44".
