Alaska - Highway - This is the first air view to be passed by the army, showing a section of the great Alaskan Highway. It is skirting one of the many lakes. A shore road leads to an old Indian settlement. The 1,600 mile highway was finished less than ten months after it was started, and many months ahead of schedule. It runs from the railhead at Edmonton, Alberta, to Fairbanks, Alaska. That the road may be continued across a Bering Strait bridge to reach Russia is predicted by Delegate Anthony Dimond of Alaska Photo measures 8.5 x 6.75 inches. Photo is dated 01-17-1943.
