Description: This is a Vietnam protest poster in the form of a movie theater poster. “Vietnam: An Eastern Theatre Production”, 1968. Artist: David Nordahl. Its a parody of Hollywood action movie advertisements, the poster featured a nonchalant L.B.J. relaxing on a lounge chair with a cool drink in his hand while the horror of the Vietnam War swirled all around him. Nordahl’s poster not only damned L.B.J., it rebuked the viewer for passively watching the war as if it were the latest B movie from Tinsel Town. The word VIETNAM is surrounded by black and white and silhouette images of soldiers, victims, Hitler, Nixon. Text: top left - An Eastern Theatre Production. SEE...a cast of thousands! SEE...modern atrocities in full color! SEE...the accounts of a nation destined to save the world in spite of itself! Gripping...moving...a film the whole family is sure to enjoy. centre - VIETNAM lower left - Filmed through the courtesy and co-operation of the entire military forces of the world's mightiest and most benevolent nation. lower right - 'A truly remarkable portrayal of American foreign policy'. 'Beautiful, poignant' next to image of Nixon - Sock it to them hard, Nix. Below - Filmed in real blood and guts color. Price of admission: your son. Plus taxes. Measures 22 x 30 inches. In good condition. Nice piece of Vietnam war history. Like what you see? Check out my eBay store Bungalowblondie Store Free shipping in the USA. Guaranteed to be an authentic "old" item. 4/2024
