The round black printed mark on the bottom reads, "Franciscan, Oven-Safe, Made in California U.S.A., Hand Decorated, Gladding McBean & Co, L1004."This mark dates to 1953-58, per online researchThe earthenware ceramic bodies are a glossy, creamy ivory with slightly flared and ruffled rims, a tiny foot, and raised, tactile, hand painted designs of reddish tan twigs or branches, dark green leaves, and dark red apples.Colors are warmer and more attractive than photos can show.Each holds 24 ounces (or 3 cups) and measures 2" high and 7 1/2" in diameter.Both bowls together weigh 2 pounds, 5 ounces before packaging.The pair makes a very nice presentation - no chips, cracks, crazing, or surface wear to note. One bowl has very minor utensil marks on the inside that are hard to see. Each is only very gently used, if at all.Three manufacturer's kiln stilt-marks are tactile and visible on the bottom.Any irregularities, flea bites, glaze misses, etc. would be from the production process.White spots or lines are from the camera.
