They were carried by Lewis and Clark on their exploration of our country and used as gifts to various Native American leaders they encountered during their expedition. The medal obverse features an image of President Jefferson. The metal reverse shows the Peace and Friendship Handshake design. The 2004 and 2005 golden proof dollar, minted in San Francisco feature a likeness of Sacagawea with her Child on the obverse; on the reverse is an Eagle in Flight. On the obverse of the 2004 proof nickels is Thomas Jefferson; on the reverse of the first 2004 nickel is the Peace Medal design and on the reverse of second 2004 nickel is a Keelboat. Both coins were minted in San Francisco. On the obverse of the 2005 proof nickels is Thomas Jefferson; on the reverse of the first 2005 nickel is an American Buffalo (Bison) and on the reverse of second 2005 nickel is Ocean in View design. Both coins were minted in San Francisco. The nickels and medal come nestled in a blue flocked insert inside a blue carboard box with a blue cardboard sleeve cover; each set includes the COA and documentation. TERMS OF SALE 1.
