Over the years several different types of Silver Eagles have been struck (Mint State, Proof, Burnished, Reverse Proof and Enhanced) but the one thing that had remained unchanged was the design. In 2021, for the first time after 35 years of the original design, this classic and popular coin was updated with an enhanced obverse design and a brand new reverse! The classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph Weinman is still featured on the obverse of the Type 2 Silver Eagle. However, thanks to technological advancements in the design and minting process, Liberty now encompasses some of Weinman's original details that were not previously possible! The Silver Eagle Type 2 reverse was designed by the artist Emily Damstra and sculpted by U.S. Mint Engraver Michael Gaudioso. It features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to it's nest. Also included in the reverse design are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "1 OZ FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR". This 2024 W $1 Proof Silver Eagle was struck at the West Point Mint! It has been certified PF70 Ultra Cameo Early Releases by NGC!! In addition, the label has been hand-signed by Michael Gaudioso!!
