These V jaws are made in house right here in Iowa. We use these frequently in our tooling shop. They are reusable and much faster then milling a soft jaw. Eliminates the need for consumable aluminum jaws for round stock work-holding. Another pro to using this type of jaw is the user is still able to use parallels to ensure the part is sitting flat in the vice. 4140 hardened steel for long life and ground for flatness. Matched in pairs, specific hardness available upon request. I just recently revised the grinding process. I’m really taking my time to measure and set up each one and make sure it’s as perpendicular as possible. This change is reflected in the price but the jaws are much better quality because of it. With the different angles at play, it is a challenge to get them perfect. I have a .0005” tolerance on the perpendicularity. I guarantee them to be within that or I will replace them free of charge. Overall dimensions are 6”x2”x1.735”. 30 degree angle, 60 degree included angle. Fits Kurt and many other brands of vices. Use of one jaw will allow the user to hold smaller diameter rounds with three points of contact, whereas two jaws will hold larger diameters up to the width of the vice using four points of contact. I have added pictures for reference. Holding capabilities will depend on the vise. My Willis in the pictures is similar to a D60 and will hold 5.25” round whereas I can hold a 7” round in my D675. I have no problems holding onto the workpiece, even rough edge stock. In the picture I’m holding onto a mere 1/8” of material and I’m able to take big cuts with my 2” mill.
