Description: This little goody is a breadboarding or prototyping socket for 8-pin octal tubes. It allows you to make solderless connections to the tube, using screw / compression terminal blocks. Just stick the wire(s) in and tighten the screw. To change the circuit, just loosen the screw and pull out the wire(s).I use these for experimenting with tubes, and prototyping tube circuits. They can be screwed to an old-fashioned wooden breadboard or a metal chassis, using the four holes with pressed-in standoffs at the corners.The socket is a high-quality current production socket from a US manufacturer, using solder-plated phosphor bronze contacts If you have your own socket you'd rather use, just let me know and I will ship the board without the socket installed. The terminal blocks are Phoenix Contact blocks that can accommodate wire sizes from 28AWG to 14AWG. Each tube socket pin is connected to two terminal strip positions.
