Description: For Sale: A Treasury Of American Folklore, Stories, Ballads, and Traditions Of The People, Edited by B. A. Botkin, with a Foreword by Carl Sandburg, Published by Crown Publisher, 1944. The book cover shows some shelf wear with a few smudges and dings at corners and spine. The pages and binding are clean, tight and intact, a light discoloration from age. The front inside page has a previous owners name written at top with the date February, 1945. No dust jacket. I have hundreds of books that have been handed down through generations, plus recent books. Some are in great condition, some showing much use and some damage. A lot of the books came from homes, bay or beach houses along the Gulf Coast, back before air conditioning, where there is high humidity and severe weather at times. Especially some of the older books from the early 1900's. We were taught that books are very valuable and should never be destroyed as long as they are still readable.
