Description: Allen Ginsberg letter to publishers Jon & Gypsy Lou (Louise) Webb, written on back of Vietnam Anti-War Poster from the Peace Illumination Walk held in New York City on Friday, December 23rd 1966. The event featured appearances from 60's underground legends Ed Sanders and Tuli Kupferberg's The Fugs, and Paul Krassner, one of the founders of the Yippies and a father of the underground press. Ginsberg, another one of the speakers at the event used this leftover poster as stationery for this letter dated May 30th, 1969 to the Webbs. The Webbs were early publishers of Charles Bukowski, Henry Miller, and the Outsider Magazine. Near Fine condition poster with creasing where folded into envelope, 14" x 8.5", signed by Ginsberg on poster and envelope. The letter reads:"Dear Jon & Gypsy Lou - Sorry to be so late sending this ($200) hope it helps a little, we both (Peter &I) thought you were lovely in spirit & flesh meeting you - Peter wore your beads for several weeks daily & still has them - & he don't much wear beads - LoveAllen Ginsberg Just got back to N.Y. & recording Blake songs this week so writing hastily -"
