That illustration includes the date 1917 but the title page shows it was published in 1916. The title translates to "Erotic Situations" and I believe it was originally published in 1838. Emil Aarestrup lived from 1800-1856 - born in Copenhagen. This is a collection of 51 poems. They say the poems can be read vertically and make sense independently, but there is also a horizontal dimension, a narrative that runs throughout the work, like a short story.
