Description: Antique CHRISTMAS Painted Composition SHIP BOAT Feather Tree Ornament, #1 Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE CHRISTMAS FEATHER TREE ORNAMENT Wonderful antique Christmas feather tree ornament measuring about 2" in size. Featuring a charming little ship complete with mast, painted stripe decoration, and original cord or thread "rope" - there is even a tiny disk on the mast to mimic a crow's nest. Made of some type of coated plaster or composition which has been hand painted as shown, condition is very good with light age related wear -- I don't think anything is missing. Designed as a Christmas ornament, specifically for a feather tree, and dating first part of the 1900s, it is solid, but light, and so unusual - there can't be too many of these that have survived - guessing made in Germany, possibly a folk art Erzgebirge piece.
