Description: Listed here is a fine and rare 5 gallon cobalt decorated stoneware crock circa 1870's. This beauty was made by Knox, Haught & Co in Shinnston W.Va. As you can see, it's decorated from top to bottom with freehand stripes, crisp stenciling and the rare and sought after 5 pointed open block Stars! Not too many of this caliber have survived which makes this beauty a great piece of Americana to add to any collection of antiques and 19th century stoneware pottery. Other than a kiln "touch" on one star, this jar is in excellent condition. No cracks, chips or repairs! Thanks for your interest.
