I can't date this piece exactly but I'm guessing it's from the 1800's. It has holes on both ends so will not hold any liquid except I suppose wax which I did not test. It would make quite a decor piece. There's is wear to the surface from age and use. You can readily see the soldering throughout the mold. I have not tried to pour wax in this mold.
