Description: This 1975 Italian import stereo 3LP box set by Philips (6998 017) features Beethoven's "Rasoumovsky" String Quartets, Op. 59, Nos. 1, 2, & 3, as well as his String Quartets Op. 74 No. 10 "Harp" and Op. 95 No. 11 "Serioso", which are not mentioned on the box or insert. They are performed by the Quartetto Italiano, consisting of Paolo Borciani (violin), Elisa Pegreffi (violin), Piero Farulli (viola), and Franco Rossi (cello). Album notes in the green insert are in English, written by Hans Schmidt. The box bears a couple splits and a noticeable cutout that cut through all layers of the release (other than the discs, of course). It also shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2). Also included are photocopies of the reviews of the performances from the October 1972 and December 1975 issues of The Gramophone magazine. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
