BELL & HOWELL 11XJ SUPER 8 mm VAR. SPEED MOVIE PROJECTOR, for film to video xfer

Description: Up for auction is a B & H Soundstar super 8 mm projector, model 11 XJ. It comes with the take-up reel and power cord, but no microphone and no owner’s manual. Please note that this projector is for super-8 films only; it does not work for regular-8 films. I noted that it presently needs a new projection lamp to replace the burned-out one. It also needs the installation of the included drive belt. After refurbishment, this projector would be ideal for transferring film to video, due to the variable speed feature. I tested the motor and noted that it runs smoothly and the variable speed works properly. But without a drive belt, the full transport mechanism was of course not tested. I am including a new drive belt that needs to be installed before the projector can be used (I didn’t feel I had the skill level to do it myself, since some dis-assembly of the mechanism is required). To test the amplifier in the playback mode, I held a head demagnetizer near it. A loud hum was heard confirming the amp works. I inspected the projection lens and found it to be clear with no obvious scratches. The zoom function turns smoothly. I found the needed replacement EFM lamp is available from other Ebay sellers. Terms of sale: This projector is being sold as-is, needing a replacement lamp + the included drive belt needs to be installed by the buyer, described to the best of my knowledge, with all sales final (no returns).
