Description: This antique silver-plated footed tray is a stunning piece from the Victorian era. The tray features intricate American Victorian patterns and is made by James Dixon & Sons. It has a unique claw foot design and is in excellent shape for its age. The tray is perfect for collectors of antique silver and has a rich history. It is a must-have for any Victorian style enthusiast. This tray was really dirty & tarnished when found at an 83 yrs. old relative's home. I washed with soap, water and dried, then used tarn-x and wright's silver polish and it now looks pretty good. It is at least 100 yrs. old, up to 189 yrs. old and shows wear so please see photos of this 10 in. tray.Marks-Hallmarks-History:Dixon & Smith c. 1806-1823James Dixon & Son c. 1823-1835James Dixon & Sons c. 1835-1920 (see marking for Sons on back of tray please)James Dixon & Sons Ltd. 1920absorbed William Hutton & Sons Ltd. 1930.
