Cambridge Rose Point 8" Salad Plate #3500 Gadroon Blank Elegant Depression Glass

Description: Offered for sale is ONE SINGLE PLATE in the gorgeous "Rose Point" pattern of Elegant Depression Glass. Elegant Depression Glass was sold in better department stores and jewelry stores during the 1930's, 1940's, and early 1950's. The "Rose Point" pattern was manufactured by the Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio from 1936-1953. Of course, not all pieces were manufactured during all years. According to Cathy & Gene Florence in their excellent book "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era" (copyright 2009, 13th edition), "the Rose Point pattern is the most collected and possibly the most recognized pattern in this book". It is certainly one of the prettiest patterns with roses inside of a cameo on three sides and roses on the vine decorating the rest of the plate. Serving pieces tend to be easier to find than basic dinnerware pieces in the Elegant Depression patterns so take note of this plate. This is listed as a luncheon plate and it measures 8 inches across (really 8 1/4 inches). It really could be used for dinner or for dessert - it is quite versatile!! The condition is EXCELLENT USED with no chips, no cracks, no discoloration, and no damage. There may be one or two tiny scratches on the surface but very difficult to see. The plate mold line is #3500 also known as "Gadroon" which features a bumpy pebble-like border around the underside of the plate. *******You are purchasing ONE PLATE although you may order more than one.
