Description: You are bidding on a wonderful antique Scandinavian Firkin or Butter Tub with lift-off lid. It is dated 1872 and has the makers initials on the base. It has remnants of old varnish, it has not been cleaned or retouched by me, was obtained from a Minnesota Scandinavian farm estate. I can see a minor split in the curve of the handle on one side, otherwise no other cracks or breaks. One end of the lid has a peg to slip into the top. It is about 5” high with lid and 4 1/4” across the bottom. Please examine photos as part of description.
