However, industry standards for Nitrile recommend a maximum operating temperature of *250* degrees F., so it is probably wise to limit their application to "small signal" (preamplifier and line stage) tubes, rather than output tubes. These microphonic dampers ***fit very snugly***, for optimum performance, and I strongly suggest that they be lubricated by moistening with water before installing on the tube envelope. I find that they are easier to install by "rolling" them onto the tube envelope, rather than pushing them down in a straight, linear manner.
