It shows the year as only being partially printed. Using a jeweler's loupe, I could find no indications that the missing numerals were a result of any sort of attempt to erase such as scuff marks, latent pressure marks from the letter press process, discoloration from any chemical agent, etc. It appears that this anomaly was due to a printing error or the intentional omission or these digits during the printing process.
