Description: Up for auction From HARRISON BEGAY ( a.k.a. Haashke' yah Niya') (Native American, 1917-2012), an original serigraph titled "Navajo Feather Dancer", ca. 1950's. The image size: is larger then we usually see. It is about 10" x 12". The metal frame is about 15"X 17.5". Signed and titled in the screen, printed on dark gray textured paper, by Tewa Enterprises in Santa Fe New Mexico about 1950. It's interesting to note that Tewa Enterprises was co-founded by Harrison Begay, A. Hamilton Mencher and Charles Barrows And that Mencher tells us that “All of Tewa’s runs consisted of 2000 impressions of high quality paper using the best quality Nazda silkscreen paints.” No telling how many of these have survived the past 60 years. This is a large original silk screen print, not the usual smaller lithographic reproduction. It is under glass in mint condition, colors are sharp not sun bleached. It is one of a set of two from an Albuquerque estate. Both are being listing today. This is the one with the Navajo woman with a squash blossom. The other I'll list later today is the man. They came as a set but can stand alone in any collection. Shipping includes insurance. Thanks for looking.
