Description: Grafted Old Violin labeled “Carlo Anselmo in Cremona 17..” This Violin has a Beautiful Powerful Tone! It projects well and is light as a feather! It has fought many wars with battle scars to prove it. Which can be expected with a centuries old violin. This violin is sold as is. It comes from an estate of violins of a collector of 50 years or so. I make no claims of it being as labeled. What I can say it has 2 or 3 inventory numbers from past collection. The one inside “2593” is similar to how Lyon & Healy would do it for their upcoming auctions of over 100 years ago or so. There appears to be possibly the letter “G&B” Firebranded at the block under the end pin. There is also “1282” embossed at the lower rib as well. The violin is extremely petite at 352mm. Plays effortlessly and sounds Great!! Powerful and warm! Lovely to play. Not sure of the age of strings. The age of the repairs are unknown. Sold as is. The back repair fortunately is not through the sound post area. It’s opposite. Very interesting piece. Especially with all of the old collection inventory numbers.
