Description: Stirling is a city in central Scotland 26 miles northeast of Glasgo and 37 miles north-west of Edinburgh. The market town, surrounded by rich farmland, grew up connecting the royal citadel, the medieval old town with its merchants and tradesmen. The High School in Stirling has been housed in several buildings over the course of its long history. In 1856 the high school was housed in a specially created building on Spittal Street. That school stayed open until 1962 and is now the Stirling “Highland Hotel” The old 1856 high school is also on this card that is dated 1908. The card is in very good condition with a minor stain on the lower left corner but otherwise a clean, clear image of the old High School with children and teachers on the sidewalk. The reverse is also clean. The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible.
