Description: Offered is the vintage book "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions-Family and Community in Edgefield, South Carolina", written by Orville Vernon Burton and published by the University of North Carolina Press in Chapel Hill. The book has a 1985 copyright date and appears to be a first edition. There are numerous black and white photos, illustrations and graphs. The original dust jacket is included. The book is approx. 9 1/4" x 6 1/8" and contains 480 pages, including the index. It is in very good to excellent condition. The tan hard cloth cover has no wear, the black words on the spine still distinct. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The tan endpapers are clean except for a gift inscription inside the front. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding and clean. I see no writing in the book other than that already mentioned. The glossy dust jacket has no tears but does have a few wrinkles and other light marks. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions. I will do my best to answer them! Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
