Description: Ka-Bar 1217 USMC Fighting Knife 8 Staple Sheath Excellent USA. This is an older reproduction post 1976. Hard to get an exact date on these but I will give all the details of the differences between the older reproductions and the newer ones. Older models have a space between the fuller and the grind on the blade. The sheaths have staples as opposed to rivets. The pin on the pommel is painted rather than bare. The stamp for Ka-Bar and USMC on blade are a bit smaller or different font on the older models. Lastly, the finish on the blade is different. This one has an unsharpened swedge or clip and all the traits of an older reproduction. Does not appear to have been used much and is in nice condition for age.
