Description: Description: Up for sale is a beautiful Korean Ceramics Imperial Court Palace Great King Single (1) Imperfect Salad Plate. At the time this listing was written, multiple place setting pieces and extra pieces were available in this pattern, so be sure and check out my many other lots! The salad plate measures approximately 8.375” in diameter and the pieces in the set are marked with a series of characters and designs. Using Google Translate, the characters translate to a combination of the following words/phrases: “Korean Pottery, Imperial Court, Palace, Great King.” The plate has a white/ivory base with a multicolor floral design (primary color of the multi-color rim is blue), in addition to an abstract pattern of multi-color animals in the center. The pattern is based upon or coordinated with the Taejon Expo 93 50th Anniversary. The status of the pattern is unknown with the years of manufacture also unknown. Condition: Please note that this is an imperfect salad plate as it light/moderately crazed on the front of the plate. The crazing is clear and has not browned/dirtied and is only visible at the proper angle and lighting. Aside from the imperfections listed above, the salad plate is in very good lightly used condition. The plate was acquired as part of a much larger set with little history known; however, no major condition issues (aside from the imperfections mentioned above) were noticed upon a thorough inspection. The piece may show light utensil marks/scratches, cleaning or storage scratches, or minor glazing imperfections to the rim, but the piece looks only lightly used.
