Description: This antique 6 ½ inch tall china shoulder head was manufactured in Germany by Hertwig & Company, circa the 1890s-1930s. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, the head measures 6 inches from shoulder to shoulder and 4 inches from front to back. It could be displayed just the way it arrives to the new owner or attached to a cloth body creating a complete doll. This is a particularly large doll head from the “Pet Name” series and has a slightly turned head with black painted hair, molded and painted facial features, a molded upper blouse with a Peter Pan collar and a tie, and is labeled “Marion” with raised lettering and gold paint. The head is unmarked on the lower back of the shoulderplate.
