Description: This elegant and rare porcelain Limoges serving platter was designed to be an asparagus server and was made by Martial Redon Limoges in the 1890s. It was decorated by the Le Rosey Decorating Studio located at Rue de la Paix. The decoration features hand-painted asparagus spears amongst green fernery and berries. Each cluster of asparagus has raised gold paint on its root side all of which is on a satin ivory ground. There is wonderful gold trimming along its edge that ends with scrolling at the handles. The bottom portion is white and bears the Martial Redon mark as well as the signature of the Le Rosey Decorating Studio. It measures 14 1/4 inches in length, a bit over 8 inches in depth, and is just shy of 2 3/4 inches in height.
