Lot of 2 Vintage Collectable Spectra-Physics 130 Lasers for Display/Restoration

Description: This is a lot of 2 (two) vintage Spectra-Physics 130/130B lasers from the 1960s. These are NON-FUNCTIONAL for display or restoration. Laser 1 is the original SP-130 using a tube with a neon sign electrode for the cathode. It has a cracked tube.Laser 2 is an SP-130B using an aluminum (cold) cathode. It has an intact tube which has long since lost its gas and is up to air.Both lasers are otherwise virtually identical and have good power supplies (though their voltage/current range may differ slightly).The cases are in generally decent condition but could stand some TLC. Neither has the aluminum trim strips but they can be easily replicated from 1/16" aluminum stock. The leather carrying handles are cracked, but not in terribly bad cosmetic condition if touched up with some black tape or paint as long as they aren't actually used. ;-).The knob on one of the lasers is damaged and doesn't fit straight.And a few small parts are missing including one set of rubber protective boots and an associated collar.It is possible to install a modern HeNe laser tube and have an operational laser. It would need to be a narrow tube (probably 1 inch in diameter or less) with some clever mounting arrangement and additional ballast will be needed. So one of these could be restored to be authentic with the original tube for display and the second as a working laser. I can assist and if you buy these, I will determine exactly what is needed and may be able to provide it. The last photo shows the SP-130 with the broken tube powering a modern 2 mW tube with 81K ohm ballast. With a suitable ballast, it can power a lower power tube. I can provide one that will fit with the ballast. For someone into historical lasers, there are few more appropriate than the SP-130. It was one of the first high quality truly portable self-contained HeNe lasers. The advertisement and spec sheet are from 1963/1964. I haven't seen an SP-130 on eBay in many years.
