Description: Vintage Maori New Zealand decorative plaque for your consideration. Features a hand carved Koruru with Manaia figures on either side. All have paua shell eyes. Very beautifully carved and the tatooing is very fine, crisp work. Measures 28.5cm in diameter and 2cm depth not including the metal hanging eyelot on the back. This piece does have damage (splits) to the bottom of the plaque measuring 11cm in length which is the result of a fall. Most of the damage is on the rear of the plate, with a 3.5cm section being visible on the front. It still displays nicely as is and will repair very well should you wish to do so.
