He developed a close musical relationship with pianist Vince Guaraldi and performed with him live and on record. Presented here is Budwig's only known recording as a leader; 1978's "Dig," which features Budwig on string bass accompanied by Tom Ranier (piano); Arlette McCoy (fender rhodes); Joe Diorio (guitar); Billy Higgins (drums) and Bob Brookmeyer (valve trombone).
