This machine has been serviced and tested and is in very nice condition. In the course of servicing the machine, the following work was done. (See photos taken during the cleaning process.) All internals were cleaned and all moving parts were re-oiled. The bobbin case assembly and feed dogs were disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned. Reassembled and lower tension adjusted for optimal performance. The upper tension assembly was disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned and adjusted. The old filament bulb was replaced with a new bulb. I usually replace filament bulbs with LED bulbs. However, I have yet to find a Necchi style LED bulb that does not flicker. So a new filament bulb has been fitted. The motor brushes were inspected and cleaned. They have many years of life left! All external surfaces were cleaned. This is a very smooth and beautifully made machine. The straight and zig-zag stitches work very well. The hideaway bobbin winder also works as designed. The lamp and low/high speed toggle switches also work properly. I do not have any Necchi cams, so I could not test the automatic decorative stitch function. However, the automatic stitch mechanism was removed, cleaned, and oiled. I have no reason to believe that it will not work, but again it has not been tested and I do not guarantee that it works. Finally, the machine’s bed dimensions are 16 ½” x 7”. I’ve spent about 15 hours servicing and testing this NECCHI. I am not a thrift store reseller or estate auction house – my hobby is vintage sewing machines. (Check out my other machines for sale on eBay and my feedback.) Beware of other listings that say that their machine “RUNS FINE!” or “WORKS!” without showing any evidence. These Supernova’s were manufactured in the 1950’s. They are a great design. But they are 70 years old and need to be serviced to ensure that they will continue to work well. You can “save” money by purchasing a machine with an unknown service history. But with repair shop rates of $80-$125 / hour, your savings will disappear the first time you bring it in for a repair. Included with the machine: (4) bobbins(1) Zig-zag foot, and (1) adjustable foot A photo copy of the original 77-page instruction manual Foot pedal & power cord. It is not an original Necchi foot pedal, but it works well and was made in Japan. The price on this listing is likely higher than some others on eBay. But if you want to be assured of a trouble-free machine, this is the one you want! Keep in mind that this is a vintage machine. While it is in very good condition, it will have minor scratches, discoloration, chips and wear that have accumulated over the years. The photos are high resolution – please view them closely to ensure you are happy with the condition of the machine. Also, rest assured that the machine will be packaged securely to ensure it arrives undamaged – it usually takes me about an hour to package my machines for shipment!
