These are meant to securely hold /store EEBD units until ready for use in areas where they will be needed. In Naval vessles one was stored in each bunk, work area below deck where distance to get out was beyond a set distance. We have aluminum boxes and steel. These have a viewing opening to check date and status without having to remove or handle EEBD. The door has a securing pin (on a cable) like a fire extinguisher has to preven accidental falling out, or handeling until needed. A safety wire or plastic band seal can comfirm unit has not been tampered with since seal was attached to pin. These were produced for the US military. The years of manufacture vary. Please check pictures. They have not been installed or used, they have been on the shelf in storage for many years a few show shelf wear.
