Description: Old Photo USSR I offer a photo from the album released in 1955-1960 in connection with the graduation of students from the command and engineering faculty of the Kharkov Higher Aviation Engineering Military School (KhVAIVU), specialty "Aircraft and technological equipment for them." The attached photographs show the composition of one of courses of the renowned higher military educational institution of the Soviet Army. The Kharkovites called the school the Second Academy (the first was GTA Govorov’s ARTA). On December 31, 1959, the KhVAIVU in its entirety was transferred to the new type of the Armed Forces - the Strategic Missile Forces. Later the school was named after Marshal of the Soviet Union Nikolai Ivanovich Krylov and the Kharkov Higher Military Command Engineering School of the Missile Forces named after Marshal of the Soviet Union N.I. In the Ukrainian Army, the School of Krylov, together with the Govorov Academy, was transformed into a Military University. Even later, on the basis of the Krylov KhVVKIU, KNUPS named after Kozhedub began to function.
