This was Derek Bells 4th, Al Holbert's 3rd and Hans-Joachim Struck 1st Le Mans Victory. Dereck Bell would go on to win Le Mans for a fifth time in 1987 along with his teammate Hans-Joachim Struck's 2nd Le Mans Victory.
