It's a design that's been beloved for decades by Peterson collectors for its muscular proportions encased in a smoothly curving silhouette, and while some of those aspects are maintained by the current "9s" and "307," the tapered stem of the "9B" accentuates the form's robust disposition while also maintaining the profile's curling lines in silhouette. It's an iconically "Peterson" shape, firmly representing the marque's signature shaping style and illustrious pipe-making history." It's been very lightly smoked and has a bite-free stem. Therefore, we do not try to return it to "like new" condition. When you buy a pipe from us, you can expect a "refreshed" pipe: The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, ready to smoke out of the box. The bowl has been reamed, but we leave enough cake so that you do not need to break it in again. Stems have been cleaned and sanitized, and vulcanite stems have been de-oxidized and polished. Stems may have some teeth marks. When needed, stems are replaced (this will be noted in the description). Any repairs made will be noted in the description and/or title. The bowl has been cleaned of previous smoking ("ghosting") using the time-tested saltand alcohol method. Briar pipes have the char removed from the rim (as possible), and the outside of the pipe has been cleaned, treated with a restoration balm, and buffed with carnauba wax.
