The tooth measures approx 80mm x 50mm x 60 mm and weighs 305 grams. it maybe from the species semedoensis only just discovered in central Java in 2014! there other species from other locations in indonesia there is a chance that if this is not semedoensis it maybe a new discovery for the area. Some of the other species from indonesia are "sompoensis" " Stegodon florensis insularis" They are thought to have become extinct around 840,000 year ago.It was discovered/ dug in central java, indonesia while sand was being excuvated for building works. From what i have read so far scientist believe them to be Early Pliocene to early Pleistocene so upto 5 million years old.
