Description: Rare 1965 John F Kennedy I.L.G.W.U Presentation Bust Sculpture by Robert Berks Rare mid century modern John F. Kennedy bust by famous sculptor Robert Berks was a presentation piece given to select attendees of the 65th anniversary convention of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union where RFK spoke. The event was in Miami, Fl in May of 1965. This scarce presentation piece commemorating the support and presence of Kennedy at the event. The piece is in very good vintage condition. It is NOT big. Measure about 8 inches high. It's in good condition showing in green oxidized bronze. Interesting piece especially considering the history of the item. See pix's. The I.L.G.W.U. (International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union), whose members were employed in the women's clothing industry, was once one of the largest labor unions in the United States, one of the first US unions to have a primarily female membership, and a key player in the labor history of the 1920s and 1930s.
