Description: Sterling silver Combat Infantry Badge with a small Merrill’s Marauders patch style badge attached. The CIB is marked STERLING as are the separate clutch lugs. The clutch pins are of the early style where pins were soldered to the back of the insignia. The Merrill’s Marauders patch style insignia has a pointed screw back attachment that I have found to be on circa 1944 insignia — it did not seem to be popular nor used much earlier or later. No provenance, as acquired in a load of sterling silver. You are buying the material pictured.
