В отличие от наградного Золотого оружия, кавалер Анненского оружия награждался лишь знаком ордена и имел право прикрепить его к эфесу своей шпаги, шашки, кортика или сабли. Приказом по военному ведомству № 66 от 19 марта 1855 года для Аннинского оружия был введен особый аннинский темляк из орденской ленты: до этого момента такое оружие носилось с обычными уставными темляками. Оружие полагалось носить при всех орденах, заменялось оно только Золотым оружием (при этом крест ордена Святой Анны 4-й степени носился лишь на Золотом оружии, украшенном бриллиантами или на оружии, его заменяющем. В "Примечаниях" к Приказу указывалось также, что классным чиновникам, удостоившимся получить орден Св.
