Description: The LabCap cryovial capper is a small, hand-held or stand- mounted device designed to provide an efficient semi-automated cap removal and replacement system without requiring the repetitive twisting of caps by hand. It is primarily intended for use with 1 - 4 mL cryovials, and interfaces are provided for Nalgene and Nunc caps. Contact us for information on the availability of other cap designs. LabCap is powered by a rechargeable battery for convenient cordless operation. This system consists of the power handle, 3 vial cap interfaces including a generic version for tubes with caps up to 20 mm in diameter, a storage plate to hold the power head and interfaces, and a USB charger with cable. A stand is also included which enables mounting the LabCap on the bench and is especially convenient for sample analyses. Using the stand enables continuous sampling without needing to put down the pipette between each sample. Since samples are uncapped and recapped as needed there is minimal exposure time of the uncapped sample, and no risk of cross-contamination from mixing caps which are held in place in the LabCap during sampling.
