Description: This listing is for a vintage Smiling Clown dark brown velvet painting framed in carved wood. ***EXTREMELY RARE due to the brown velvet vs black. It measures approximately 14 1/4” Wide by 20 1/4" Tall From what I could find, it likely dates late 60s (because of brown velvet vs black) to early 70s….but I couldn’t find anything solid to base that on so it’s just my best guess. As seen in the pictures it is signed, however I can’t read the signature….possibly Ruth? Cosmetically it's still in very displayable condition but does have some signs of wear. There are some spots that are “bald” meaning the velvet material has lost the velvet texture and it’s just smooth. The paint is still pretty vivid as it does not appear to have much fading. The brown wood frame has signs of minor cosmetic wear and some white paint on one side but is still structurally very sound.
