Our regular price for this poster is $189 Here we are offering a rarely seen silk-screened Cuban anti-war poster -- this one released in Havana to show Cuba's solidarity with VIETNAM. This scarce 12 by 17 inch handmade poster was distributed in 2005 by the Havana-based Organization of Solidarity of the People of Asia, Africa & Latin America (OSPAAAL) as part of a portfolio of 10 silkscreens. Over six decades, OSPAAAL promoted Cuba's solidarity with countries and revolutionary movements in the Third World. OSPAAAL closed its doors in Havana in June 2019, making many of its famed posters more difficult to find. The VIETNAM solidarity poster in this listing is a mini 2005 silk-screened version of a poster designed in 1968 by RENE MEDEROS PAZOS (1933-1996), a prominent Cuban graphic artist who traveled to Hanoi in the late 1960s to create a series of graphics during the Vietnam War. This poster is (quite literally) a graphic reminder of Cuba's staunch opposition to the United States's participation in the Vietnam War. Overall condition of the poster is good.
