Description: For sale is a Stanley/Bailey 9 1/2 block plane. Found at an Estate sale in the Portland, Oregon area. The plane has all correct parts and is ready to use. This plane was made by Stanley for Montgomery Wards in the 1940's/50's era. The plane is identical to Stanley with these exceptions: No MADE IN USA or STANLEY cast into the body, plus no Stanley name stamped on blade. These are the only differences between Stanley and the Wards Master Quality marked planes from the 40/50's era. The blade is ground to 25 degrees and honed to 1200 grit. Blade is lapped on back flat and when used produces a thin smooth cutting chip. The plane is ready to use and you won't be dissatisfied with the planning results. This is the go to block plane of cabinetmakers and carpenter's alike. Vintage and quality built you cant go wrong with a vintage Stanley plane. See pictures as they are part of the description.
