Description: Solid wood chest of drawers from Sumter Cabinet Co.I don't know if it's cherry but this is the original dark finish; you may be able to tell my looking at the inside of the drawer.Also has the original pulls. This is from my childhood bedroom set. I was born in 1952 so it's from the 40s or 50s. There are a few scratches, but Sumter is known for it's finish:"Because you can no longer buy new pieces of Sumter Cabinet furniture, if you want to have a piece of furniture with their fabled 28-step finishing process you will have to buy used." The top needs to be refinished. A skylight leaked and has discolored the top in two places. Typically sold by high-end used furniture stores for around $1000. Local pickup only. Buyers must be able to carry the chest down stairs:)
