Description: Antique 1850’s 1860’s Spoon Bonnet.It’s Hand Sewn Gray with Black Stripe Silk Taffeta decorated with Tucks and Trimmed with a Sheer Ruffle around the Face.Top of the bonnet has eleven layers of boning from the back up to the front of the brim.The outside casing on the boning on the brim is worn exposing the boning in places. And one has poked through. The boning may be made from wood. Also the sheer ruffle has some damage. Has a piece missing on the right side. See pictures.
