Description: Vintage 10k Purple Color Change Lab Sapphire Alexandrite Toi Et Moi 2 Stone Ring Click images to enlarge Description Offered today is an antique 10k gold lab-created sapphire corundum (with the term synthetic alexandrite used interchangeably) "toi et moi" two-stone ring. This style of ring was wildly popular back in the day (especially with diamond rings) with the two main gemstones romantically representing "you and me". The stones in this ring were grown in a lab and have the same properties as sapphire and test positive on the Presidium gem tester for sapphire. The camera doesn't capture color change very well at all. Their color is a luminous lighter purple in natural daylight (ligher than pics, really pretty) and they takes on a more subtle purple/blue-ish color under indoor light. The color change is subtle and nothing crazy--more of a lighter to darker change. The two stones are offset on an angle in a bypass mounting and total approximately 1.25 ctw. This ring is hallmarked 10k and tests positive for 10k gold. The face measures 3/8" north to south. It weighs 2.8 grams, is a size 5.25, and is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or abrasion to the stones. It can be sized by any competent jeweler, if need be.
