I added two USB 2.0 ports and tested all hardware. It is now ready to install your favorite applications, from floppy diskette, CD, or from a USB flash drive. This "Frog Design" minitower case was one of Packard Bell's most popular. There are still two empty exposed 5.25" drive bays. Inside the case is an Intel 440FX chipset motherboard with 256K L2 cache and a riser card for the PCI and ISA slots. The original 90 MHz Intel Pentium processor is included, which may not be upgradeable. There are only two 72-pin SIMM sockets and 8MB soldered down to the motherboard, and two 8MB FPM SIMMs for a total of 24MB (upgradeable to 72MB). The riser card has five expansion slots: 2 PCI, 2 16-bit ISA, and one that can be either. Two of the ISA slots are filled, with a 14.4 Kbps modem and with an Aztech Sound Galaxy Washington 16 sound card. I added a PCI card with two USB 1.1 ports. This leaves one PCI and the shared PCI/ISA slot open. Packard Bell included a Cirrus Logic GD5434 graphics processor on their motherboard, with 1MB of RAM, upgradeable to 2MB. They also included two PS/2 ports, and one port each for parallel, serial, and SVGA monitor. The original 1.44MB floppy drive and Panasonic CR-563-B 2X CD ROM are both still working (The Aztech sound card has a Panasonic CD ROM controller). The 810MB Conner IDE hard drive is partitioned as a single C: drive. It boots with no problems. The system uses a Dallas Real Time Clock which has failed and gives an error on POST.
